Musical Monday with James Harvey

James Harvey is a writer, musician, and performer whose “voice and…ideas are vital to the continual evolution of musical theater” (Alexander Gemignani). Most recently, he wrote and starred in Kafkaesque!, a critically acclaimed “madcap musical theater dream” (Theatrely) based on the works of Franz Kafka. Other musical theatre credits include The Crack in the Ceiling (New York Musical Theatre Festival and New York Fringe Best Musical Winner), Prime Day (dir. Ashley Brooke Monroe), and the upcoming Untitled Furry/Syrian Refugee Musical. As a musical comedian James performed his one-man show, The Bald-Faced Truth, throughout the US and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A sought-after music director and accompanist, James regularly collaborates with such luminaries as Alan Cumming, Catherine Cohen, Matt Rogers, and Bowen Yang. James studied music composition at NYU (Alan Menken Scholarship) and is a member of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. www.jamesharvey.com
